Last night I heard my mom and dad talking about Roger. He’s been my very best friend since I was born. He is always happy to see me. He licks my face as soon as I get home from school. I used to take him outside every day, but he doesn’t want to go for walks anymore. When I get his leash and say, “Come on, boy, let’s go for a walk” he still gets excited. He wags his tail and looks at me, but then, he doesn’t even stand up. It’s because he’s very old. I don’t really understand how he got so old, when he’s just the same age as me, but you have to count dog years differently than human years. In dog years, Roger is really, really old….
